Kyle Shernuk is an Assistant Professor of Modern Chinese Literature & Culture at Georgetown University. Since completing his MA degree at UO in 2012, he went on to earn his PhD from Harvard University (2020) and serve as a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University's Council on East Asian Studies (2021). His research takes a particular interest in disempowered and minoritized populations, with publications focusing on issues of ethnicity, indigeneity, queerness, and language in global Chinese communities. He is also an active Chinese-English translator and the editor of the Cambria Sinophone Translation Series.
