Porter S. Wheeler is currently a Peace Corps Education Volunteer serving in the Dominican Republic. He helps elementary school students improve their Spanish literacy levels. Additionally, his writing has been published in The Nation Magazine, DSA’s The Activist, and UO’s own The Daily Emerald. As a strong human rights and public policy advocate, he hopes that his Peace Corps service and writings only mark the start of his career in international affairs.
